WSBA 2013 Environmental and Land Use Law Midyear Conference, Union, Washington, May 2-3, 2013

SCB attorneys Paul Dayton and Leslie Clark spoke on the use of summary adjudication techniques to resolve CERCLA liability issues, drawing from their experience litigating Pakootas v. Teck Metals, Ltd., No. 04-256-LRS, pending in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Washington.

SCB attorney Athan Tramountanas spoke on the topic "Construction Law 101" with emphasis on residential projects, including contract clauses and practical advice to guide practitioners through issues on constructions projects.


The program was sponsored by the Yakima County Volunteer Attorney Services with the support of the Construction Law Section of the Washington State Bar Association.  All proceeds used to support the Yakima County Volunteer Attorney Services.

SCB Co-Sponsored Northwest Environmental Business Council Luncheon in Seattle, Washington, Ports - Economic & Environmental Outlook

SCB's Environmental Law Practice Group co-sponsored the November 7, 2012, luncheon meeting of the Northwest Environmental Business Council (NEBC). The program covered current environmental and fiscal issues facing Washington's ports, presented by Eric Johnson of the Washington Public Ports Association. SCB serves as counsel to several ports throughout the State, providing environmental and land use law support.
