SCB attorneys Paul Dayton and Leslie Clark spoke on the use of summary adjudication techniques to resolve CERCLA liability issues, drawing from their experience litigating Pakootas v. Teck Metals, Ltd., No. 04-256-LRS, pending in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Washington.

SCB attorney Athan Tramountanas spoke on the topic "Construction Law 101" with emphasis on residential projects, including contract clauses and practical advice to guide practitioners through issues on constructions projects.
The program was sponsored by the Yakima County Volunteer Attorney Services with the support of the Construction Law Section of the Washington State Bar Association. All proceeds used to support the Yakima County Volunteer Attorney Services.
SCB attorneys Andrew Maron and Leslie Clark were part of the panel of attorneys who provided an update on three important current legal issues: (1) implementation of the state's new marijuana law; (2) new statute regarding payment for fire hydrants; and (3) pending litigation regarding imposition of a city utility tax on special districts.
